IT Security VS Information Security VS Cyber Security
The IT security, information security and the cyber security are all related to the protection of information and systems. But these three security streams have different meanings in their own manner.
IT SECURITY
IT security stands for Information Technology security which focuses on the security measures of the information systems and technology infrastructures in an organization. This stream involves protecting information systems from unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, or destruction. IT security includes the use of technical controls such as firewalls, intrusion detection & prevention systems, antivirus software, and encryption.
INFORMATION SECURITY
Information security is more broader and a wider concept that IT security. This stream of security refers to the protection of all forms of information, including physical and electronic data from unauthorized access, usage, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction. It correlates policies, procedures, and controls to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.
CYBER SECURITY
As the term “Cyber Security”, it refers to the protection of networks, devices, and systems from cyber attacks. Cyber attacks can be in many manner such as malware, phishing, ransomware, denial of service, etc. This stream involves protecting digital assets from unauthorized access, theft, damage, or disruption.
